2. SCOPE OF THIS POLICY — PLEASE READ THIS SECTION FIRST

This Policy covers two distinct groups of people, whose data we handle in different ways and under different legal rules. Please read the part that applies to you.

Part A — Our clients and website visitors. If you are a business owner who has enquired about our services, become a client, or visited our website, Part A applies to you. In relation to your data, Recur is the data controller.

Part B — Consumers who respond to advertising we operate. If you are a homeowner or consumer who submitted your details through an advertisement, landing page or form that Recur operates on behalf of one of our clients, Part B applies to you. In relation to your data, Recur generally acts as a service provider / data processor for the business that will contact you, as explained in Part B.

Parts C and D apply to everyone.

PART A — CLIENTS, PROSPECTIVE CLIENTS AND WEBSITE VISITORS

3. WHAT WE COLLECT

  • Identity and contact data: full name, business name, job title, phone number, email address, business address.
  • Commercial data: services purchased, contract terms, campaign budgets, billing and payment records (card details are handled by our payment processor and are not stored by us).
  • Account and campaign data: advertising account access, CRM configuration, reporting and performance data, call recordings and meeting recordings (see section 6).
  • Business listing and website data: opening hours, service areas, categories, images, posts, site content, structure, metadata and analytics needed for optimisation work.
  • Technical and usage data: IP address, browser and device type, cookie identifiers, approximate location, pages visited and time on site.
  • Marketing preferences: your choices about how we contact you.

4. HOW WE COLLECT IT

Through our website and landing page forms; through direct communication by phone, email, SMS or messaging apps; during onboarding and the ongoing delivery of our services; through cookies and similar technologies; and from publicly available business sources used for research and outreach.

Where we rely on legitimate interests, we have assessed that our interest in operating and growing our business does not override your rights. You can object to this processing at any time — see section 17.

PART B — CONSUMERS WHO RESPOND TO ADVERTISING WE OPERATE

This Part applies if you submitted your details through an advertisement, landing page, quiz or form promoting a home improvement business — for example a roofing, kitchen or bathroom company — where that advertising is operated by Recur on that business's behalf.

7. OUR ROLE, AND WHO CONTROLS YOUR DATA

Recur builds and runs advertising campaigns for our clients. When you submit your details, you are requesting contact from the local business named in the advertisement. That business is the party that will quote for and carry out any work, and it is the data controller of your information. Recur acts as its service provider and data processor, and handles your data only to carry out the contact, qualification and appointment-booking service we have been engaged to provide.

If you want to know which business your enquiry went to, contact us using the details in section 1 and we will tell you.

Our client is responsible for ensuring it has a lawful basis for holding your data and for responding to your rights requests. We will pass any request you make to us on to them and will assist them in responding.

8. WHAT WE COLLECT ABOUT YOU

  • Your name, phone number, email address and postal town or ZIP/postcode.
  • The answers you give to qualification questions — for example the type and scope of work you want, the age and condition of your property, your intended timescale, your budget range, whether you own the property, and whether you intend to use insurance or financing.
  • Your communications with us, including SMS messages and phone calls.
  • Technical data about your interaction with the advertisement or landing page, including cookie and advertising identifiers.

We do not ask for and do not want financial account numbers, government identification numbers or health information. Please do not send these to us.

9. WHERE YOUR DATA COMES FROM

Directly from you, through a form on a landing page or through a lead form hosted by an advertising platform such as Meta (Facebook and Instagram) or Google. In some cases our client provides us with details of people who have already contacted them, in which case our client is responsible for confirming it has the right to share that data with us.

10. HOW WE USE YOUR DATA

  • To contact you by SMS, phone or email about the enquiry you submitted.
  • To ask follow-up questions to understand what you need, and to determine whether the business advertising is able to help you.
  • To book, confirm, reschedule and remind you about an appointment or site visit.
  • To pass your details and your answers to the business that will attend.
  • To keep records demonstrating that you consented to be contacted, and to honour any opt-out you make.
  • To measure the performance of the advertising, in aggregate.

11. SMS AND TELEPHONE CONTACT

By submitting your details you agree to be contacted at the number you provided about your enquiry, including by automated text message and by telephone. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies.

You can stop messages at any time. Reply STOP to any text message to opt out, or HELP for assistance. You can also ask us to stop contacting you by emailing contact@recuragency.com or by telling the person you speak with. We will honour opt-out requests promptly and will maintain internal do-not-contact records so that you are not contacted again through the same campaign. See our SMS Terms & Conditions for full details.

Consent to marketing messages is not a condition of purchasing any goods or services.

Automated messaging. Some of our initial text messages are sent and answered by an automated system rather than a person. You can ask to speak to a human at any point and we will arrange it.

12. WHO WE SHARE YOUR DATA WITH

  • The business advertising, so that it can contact you and carry out the work.
  • Our technology providers, listed in section 14, which host the CRM, messaging and scheduling systems used to contact you.
  • Advertising platforms, in aggregate or hashed form, to measure and improve campaign performance.
  • Legal or regulatory authorities, where we are required to disclose.

We do not sell your personal information for money. Certain uses of advertising cookies and pixels may count as "selling" or "sharing" under some US state laws — see section 18.

PART C — INFORMATION THAT APPLIES TO EVERYONE

13. AUTOMATED DECISION-MAKING AND ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

We use automated systems, including AI-based tools, to draft and send messages, to score and prioritise enquiries, and to summarise conversations for our team.

These systems do not make legally significant decisions about you on their own. A person is always involved before an enquiry is declined or an appointment is refused, and you can ask for human review of any outcome by contacting us.

Wycliffe House, Water Lane, Wilmslow, Cheshire, SK9 5AF — 0303 123 1113 — www.ico.org.uk

18. YOUR RIGHTS — UNITED STATES

If you are a resident of California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas, Oregon, Montana, or another state with a comprehensive privacy law, you may have the right to: know what personal information we have collected about you and why; obtain a copy of it; correct it; delete it; opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information; opt out of targeted advertising; and opt out of profiling that produces legal or similarly significant effects. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

Sale and sharing. We do not sell personal information for money. However, our use of advertising cookies and pixels — including the Meta pixel — may constitute "sharing" for cross-context behavioural advertising under the CCPA and comparable laws.

To opt out, email contact@recuragency.com with the subject line "Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information", or use the cookie preference control on our website.

Global Privacy Control (GPC). We honour Global Privacy Control signals. When your browser or a browser extension sends a GPC signal from our website, we treat it as a valid request to opt out of the sale or sharing of your personal information and to opt out of targeted advertising for that browser and device, in line with the CCPA, CPRA and comparable US state privacy laws.

Authorised agents. You may use an authorised agent to make a request; we may ask for proof of their authority.

19. COOKIES AND TRACKING

Our website and landing pages use cookies, pixels and similar technologies — including the Meta pixel and Google Analytics — to operate the site, measure advertising performance and support our marketing. You can manage your preferences through the cookie banner on our site or through your browser settings. Full details are set out in our Cookie Policy. Business clients should also review our Data Processing Agreement.

20. SECURITY

We protect your data using encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access control, two-factor authentication on internal systems, reputable third-party hosting, and periodic access reviews.

If a breach occurs that is likely to result in a risk to your rights, we will notify the ICO within 72 hours where required, notify affected individuals and clients without undue delay, and comply with applicable US state breach notification laws.

21. CHILDREN

Our services are directed at businesses and at adult homeowners. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

22. SPECIAL CATEGORY DATA

We do not seek health, biometric, racial, religious, political or other special category data. If such data reaches us incidentally — for example in a note about an accessibility requirement for a home adaptation — we will handle it with heightened confidentiality and delete it where it is not needed.

PART D — CHANGES AND CONTACT

23. CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We review this Policy regularly and will publish any updates on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Where changes are significant we will notify clients by email.
